Loch Lomond & Glencoe Campervan Route
For a first Scottish campervan trip from Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Glencoe give you a lot of scenery without forcing you into huge driving days. This works well as a long weekend or as the opening section of a longer west-coast itinerary.
Day 1: Glasgow to Loch Lomond
Keep the first leg easy while you get used to the campervan. Head north towards Loch Lomond, stop for supplies before the roads get quieter and choose a campsite or authorised overnight stop that suits your next day's direction.
Day 2: Loch Lomond to Glencoe
Continue through the western Highlands towards Glencoe. The road becomes part of the experience, so leave time for viewpoints and short walks rather than treating every stop as a schedule problem. Arriving in Glencoe with daylight left gives you more flexibility for where you settle for the evening.
Day 3: Glencoe, local exploring and return
Use the morning for Glencoe itself, then choose whether to return towards Glasgow or extend the trip towards Fort William, Oban or the west coast. If you are returning the campervan that day, remember the standard return time is noon unless another time has been confirmed.
Make it a 4–5 day trip
Add Fort William, Glenfinnan or Oban rather than simply driving further. The advantage of the campervan is being able to slow down and spend more time where the weather and scenery are working in your favour.

It is an ideal route for getting familiar with the California before narrower Highland roads. Give yourself time around Glencoe rather than treating it as a photo stop, and use campsites or suitable overnight options that fit your plans and the local rules.
