Day 1: Glasgow to Loch Lomond
Collect your Wee Coo, get comfortable with the van and make the first drive deliberately short. Spend the afternoon around Loch Lomond and choose an appropriate campsite or overnight stop.
Day 2: Loch Lomond to Glencoe
Continue north through some of the country's best-known scenery. Give yourself time for viewpoints and walks rather than treating the A82 as a race.
Day 3: Glencoe to Glasgow
Enjoy a slower morning, then return south with time in hand for refuelling and the standard noon return requirement if this is your hand-back day. If your hire runs into a fourth morning, stay a final night closer to Glasgow.

Recommended campsites along the way
These are independent suggestions chosen for location and campervan suitability — not paid placements. Opening dates, pitch rules and availability can change, so always check directly before travelling.
Worth knowing: Loch Lomond has Camping Management Zones from March to September. If you plan to stay outside a formal campsite, check the National Park permit rules before travelling.
Check the official guidance. Make three days feel like a holiday
For a long weekend, the trick is not distance — it is protecting time outside the van. Keep the first day simple, use Loch Lomond as the transition from Glasgow, and give Glencoe enough time for viewpoints, short walks and a relaxed evening. On the final night, stay far enough south that the noon return does not turn into an early-morning dash.
Best for: a first campervan trip, a couple’s weekend, or anyone arriving in Glasgow who wants Highland scenery without spending half the break driving.
