5 Day Scotland Campervan Route

Five days is enough for a memorable west-coast campervan trip without spending every day behind the wheel. This outline keeps the first and last legs manageable from Glasgow.

Days 1โ€“2: Loch Lomond and Glencoe

Use Loch Lomond as the transition from city to Highlands, then give Glencoe enough time for viewpoints, short walks and a relaxed evening.

Days 3โ€“4: Fort William and the west coast

Continue towards Fort William and choose your next stop according to weather and interests. Arisaig and Morar can work well for a west-coast extension; alternatively spend more time around Lochaber.

Day 5: Return towards Glasgow

Leave enough margin for fuel, traffic and hand-back. If the van is due back at noon, position yourself closer to Glasgow the night before rather than relying on a long final drive.

Five days gives you room to slow down

With five days you can move beyond Glencoe without making every day a transfer day. Fort William, Glenfinnan, Arisaig and Morar all work as west-coast options. Build the route around weather and where you can stay rather than fixing every hour in advance. One flexible day is often worth more than squeezing in another famous stop.

Best for: a first proper Scotland road trip with enough time for walking, swimming, beaches or lazy campsite mornings.
