Trip Type: Scotland touring
6-day Mull & Iona slow tour
Six hire days give Mull and Iona room to breathe: Salen for the north, Fidden for the Iona visit, then a booked mainland night before returning the camper.
5-day Fife & East Neuk coast
Stay within a compact coastal region and spend the saved driving time in its harbours, cafés and footpaths. Falkland, St Andrews and the East Neuk offer a different Scottish trip from the Highland loops.
5-day Speyside & Cairngorms
Five days through Perthshire, Loch Morlich and Grantown, with Speyside Cooperage as the final sightseeing stop before heading south. The Moray coast belongs to a longer hire; this plan leaves the last night at Blair Atholl.
6-day Kintyre & Argyll coast
Tarbert’s harbour, Campbeltown and Machrihanish’s beach reward the drive down Kintyre. Give the peninsula proper time, then work north for your final Inveraray night.
7-day North East 250 from Glasgow
From Royal Deeside to north-east fishing towns and Speyside, this is a circuit of changing landscapes and local food. Travel from Renfrew sits outside the official 250-mile loop.
7-day South West Coastal 300
Small ports, Whithorn’s archaeology and a bookable farm experience make the south-west more than a scenic driving loop. Use seven days to stop properly rather than collect viewpoints.
8-day west coast & Skye
Eight days along Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Oban and Glencoe before the Mallaig ferry to Skye. Keep Trotternish for the full island day, then make the separate mainland transfer to Glencoe before handback.
9-day North Coast 500 highlights
A nine-day NC500 highlights circuit from Renfrew. This plan keeps Wick, Tongue, Durness and the west coast, but skips Applecross and extra coastal loops. It includes several substantial driving days; allow longer if you want the full coast at a slower pace.
10-day Outer Hebrides island hop
Follow the islands from Barra through the Uists to Harris and Lewis, with baking, beach walks and authorised pitches along the way. Ferry bookings and a weather buffer shape the journey.
6-day Skye via Glenfinnan
Six hire days with two full days on Skye: first settle in Glencoe, cross via Glenfinnan and Mallaig, then spend three nights at a Portree base. The fifth day is the separate journey south, leaving a sensible final morning.
